Our IHRS Secret Santas are working very hard to help make our foster rabbit wishes come true! Our annual foster rabbit holiday gift basket project was a huge success this year.

Donations were accepted from October through early December. Many thanks to Sharon, Susan, Pamela, Phyllis, Dawn , Shanan Adkins, Kirstie, and Jill for donations of apple twigs, hay, hay stuffed toilet paper tubes, phone books, willow baskets, lots of toys, papaya tablets, dried fruit, dried sage, and gift bags. Also a special thanks to Leith Petwerks for ordering supplies to complete the project!

Many thanks to Kristen, Brian, and Lily (rabbit) for hosting the basket-making event in their Broad Ripple, Indiana home. Secret Santas assembled baskets while listening to Christmas music, sipping punch, and snacking on cheese and crackers.

This year our foster rabbits will have a very Happy Holiday due to the hard work of our volunteers. We will post Christmas morning photos of happy foster rabbits on our website!

Statistically, the general public traditionally purchases the most new pets during the period between Thanksgiving and New Years each year.  The Home for the Holidays Campaign intiative encourages the general public to obtain their next pet from a shelter, rather than a pet store:

For the fourth consecutive year, Indiana HRS is participating in the Indiana Home for the Holidays Campaign.  For people interested in obtaining a pet, please help us spread the word to give the gift of life to a homeless dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, hamster this holiday season.
